Mother India, Taikoo Fong

This place is pretty small and you can easily miss it. Lunch boxes cost HK$35 (veg) and HK$45 (non-veg). The buffet costs 75 bucks but the choices are limited. The meats require more experience and so do the vegetables. The food appearance is not very inviting, but the taste is not that bad. This a place where KDW & SN frequent to grab lunch-boxes. And boy the aroma back in the office is so yummy!! Both get their boxes around 12:00 pm and I have to make an effort to stay put until 12:30 pm! KDW has more curries per week than I do. And so do MH and AB. Hmm. I just find the food a bit too heavy for lunch time. And I feel bad to be spending HK$75 and eating so little. So most of the times, SC and myself opt out to the disappointment of SN. ;))

This is what I had. Rice, Dal Makhani (Creamy Black lentils), Pudina (mint sauce) chutney, fried spinach (chhoi sum!), Lamb Kebab, Chicken Kebab and salad.

Followed by a piece of Masala Dosa. The filling is made of potatoes, chili, onions, mustard, turmeric, etc. The wrap is made of rice and chana, urad, toor, moong dal. You normally have coconut chutney and sambhar with it.

This is how the masala dosa looks inside. For a more detailed recipe please go to this link - Bawarchi.com

Finally, Mango Lassi. Made from real mangoes (not essence) and yog hurt. Served chilled.
