Ping Zan Lao, 10/F Times Square

Welcome to Sungwoo @ 10/F Times Square.

Wrapped veggies on fire!

This was a farewell dinner for our new Korean colleague Sungwoo. This is the fired vegetable dish after unwrapping.

Yummy steamed fish

Mushrooms and vegetables

Fatty meat!

That's beef. I am supposed to be off beef until my back is cured. But I always forget and eat it.

BBQ pork

Ox tongue here. I missed the pick of the roasted duck.

Cucumbers

Eat while you can! I believe this is a costly restaurant. But since this was an official dinner...?!!

Wang Jia Sha, the Master of Shanghai Dim Sum. This restaurant is on the floor above Broadway at City Plaza, Tai Koo.

Called "Joe Lai Go", this sweet dish is a secret recipe and cannot be found anywhere in HK (says RL). The Xiao Long Bao was a bit less juicy. Reasonably priced dishes with great taste. We also had Mount Tao and vegetables. A must go there again place.

Thai Orchid @ Tai Koo Place

Thai Orchid @ Tai Koo Place serves delicious Thai food in take away lunch boxes @ HK$45 only.

You have a choice of 2 out of 4 dishes with rice and soup or soft drink. I normally get the kind lady to reduce the amount of rice and replace it with the vegetables. The chicken is a bit spicy on most days. The beef and eggplant are too yummy. They also do fish fillet. And what's more? You get your 13 lunch free if you have remembered to get the chop on the small card they provide you with. KDW approves too ;-) He is one of my regular readers and a great food lover. He goes for more Indian food @ Mother India than I do!

A Black Spot

One night after the movies we went to this place for dinner. Its in Amoy Plaza, Kowloon Bay. I shall update the name later

Xiao Long Bao was tasteless

This is what the sweet and sour chicken dish looked like

This is how they cook chicken dishes in some places in HK - SEPARATELY. They cook the chicken plain. And then add the sauce and heat it up for some time and serve it to poor customers like me. When you cut open the chicken piece you will find that there is no juice inside from the gravy / sauce

And this is the amount of oil in the dish giving you an idea how the chicken was made. FRIED

This vegetable dish cost us tens of dollars. Basically, these guys are cheats. Sub-standard food, high costs. I tried some shrimp (from the fried rice) and had allergic reaction. My stomach bloated up and I had rash on my face and in my food pipe. God bless you all if happen to eat there.

Here is the culprit!

Outback Steakhouse, Causeway Bay

We met a few new friends and I succumbed to the decision of trying out some of the fattiest food on earth. So we ended up going to Outback Steakhouse at JP Plaza.

Aussie cheese fries with melted Jack and Cheddar cheese.

Blooming Onion fries with sauce - An Outback Ab-original from Russell's Marina Bay

Ripper Peel N' Eat - Shrimp, served cold with a zesty cocktail sauce. Dig in Mate!

Bread with Caesar salad

A center-cut sirloin, seasoned and seared to perfection 8-ounce/11-ounce. They are served with Walkabout Soup O' The Day and choice of rice pilaf and fresh steamed veggies, jacket potato, Aussie chips, or sweet potato.

Alice Springs Chicken - Grilled chicken breast and bacon smothered in mushrooms, melted Jack and Cheddar cheeses, with honey mustard sauce. Served with Aussie chips.

Queensland Pasta - Fettuccine Alfredo with a light lemon sauce topped with your choice of:
Gilled chicken and shrimp

Chocolate thunder from down under - Fresh-baked pecan brownie, rich vanilla ice cream topped with hot homemade chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings.

Very delicious and fatty. Cost us HK $160 per head with unlimited refills for the drinks (mostly soft drinks or lemon tea). Visit there next year. hehehe.
